This system provides suitably competent graduates with trained in translation and interpreting leading to certification by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) as professional interpreters and/or translators (formerly called Level 3). The Master of Arts Translation and Interpreting Research is also available as an exit award for students who are unable to pass Accreditation Research and who tackle an additional PG unit as an alternative. The Graduate Certificate in Interpreting and Translation, the Graduate Diploma in Interpreting Studies, as well as the Graduate Diploma in Translation Studies can be found as early exit points from this Program. Subject to require, the following languages are available: Japanese, Arabic, Mandarin, and Spanish.

National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) at the Expert level

  • Bachelor or postgraduate degree (any)
  • Native or near native proficiency in a Few of the following languages: Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish
