The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) undergraduate degree is a professional degree recognised for admission to practice in Singapore. Our graduates have also been admitted to practice in Malaysia, in several Commonwealth jurisdictions and some states in the U.S.
The majority of the LL.B. students apply to the Faculty of Law after completing their pre-university studies. Most of these students enrol in the four-year LL.B. programme while others may enrol in one of our three five-year double degree programmes (Business Administration and Law; Economics and Law; Law and Life Science) or our four and a half year concurrent degree programme with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Law and Public Policy). Some students may also apply to read law after completing a degree in another discipline. These students will enrol in the three-year Graduate LL.B. (GLB) Programme.
Each year around 250 students enter the LL.B. programmes at the Faculty of Law. Although most of the LL.B. students are Singaporeans, the programme is also open to international students.
Law students have to complete the modules listed under the compulsory core law curriculum (CCLC) in the first two to three years of their legal education. Students in the 4 Year LL.B. Programme must complete a total minimum of 160 credits.
Students in the four-year LL.B. programme must complete a minimum total of 160 credits in four years. Students in the Graduate LL.B. Programme must complete a minimum total of 120 credits in three years.
All LL.B. students are required to take the same compulsory core law modules during the first two years of their studies, as well as one compulsory module in the third year of their studies. For the remaining modules in the LL.B. curriculum, students are allowed to choose from a wide variety of elective modules.

Freshmen will be considered through their application for admission to NUS. No separate scholarship application is required. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email around end August till September.
Tuition Grant
The substantial tuition subsidy from the Government of Singapore comes in the form of a tuition grant which is administered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and offered to all admitted students. Students who apply and are approved for the tuition grants need only pay subsidised fees. While the tuition grant is not repayable, and Singapore citizens in receipt of it will not be required to undertake a service bond, the following accountability measures will apply:
All Singapore Permanent Residents and international students (except those already in receipt of a service bond from the PSC or the Ministry of Health) will be required to undertake a service bond under the terms of the tuition grant to work for a Singapore-registered company for three years upon completion of their degrees so as to discharge some of their obligations to the Singapore public for the high subsidy to their university education.
