Requirements for the Lute Programme at Franco Vittadini Institute of Music Studies

The Franco Vittadini Institute of Music Studies offers a comprehensive Lute Programme for prospective students. To be eligible for the programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• A minimum of Grade 8 in classical guitar or lute, or equivalent.
• A minimum of Grade 5 in music theory, or equivalent.
• A minimum of Grade 5 in aural skills, or equivalent.
• A minimum of Grade 5 in sight-reading, or equivalent.
• A minimum of Grade 5 in improvisation, or equivalent.
• A minimum of Grade 5 in composition, or equivalent.

In addition to the above requirements, applicants must also demonstrate a commitment to the study of lute and its related repertoire. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the instrument.
