A master's degree in International Economics is an increasingly essential degree in the global economy. The Program offers cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the field of international economics and is the best master's in international economics in Central and Eastern Europe. The Program places emphasis on in-depth knowledge of analytical tools and empirical research techniques, aiming at producing top-class economic analysts. Through the study of the diverse forces that are shaping the global economy and its institutions, the M.A. Program in International Economics at Warsaw University equips its graduates to function effectively in a rapidly changing world. The selection of courses aims at providing students with solid bases of economics at advanced level and making them familiar with the latest issues and instruments related to international economics used in scientific research, business and international institutions. The structure of the Program allows for linking the compulsory subjects at the first year with selected specialized subjects at the second year of studies. First year students are required to complete advanced courses on theory of economics including advanced macro- and microeconomics, macro- and microeconometrics, mathematical methods as well as courses which constitute introduction to specializations which include monetary economics, international migrations and theory of international trade. During the second year of studies each student follows an individual course of studies by selecting specialized classes. A strong emphasis on the ability to use analytic instruments for solving real problems in practice and implementing new solutions stimulates creativity and prepares students for challenges they will face at further stages of their professional career. Students of the International Economics program are also offered the possibility to obtain a double-degree diploma: Master’s degree in International Economics issued by Warsaw University as well as a Master’s degree diploma obtained at one of the foreign Universities under bilateral agreement. The participants of double-degree programs having completed their first year in Warsaw have an opportunity to spend their second year at the partner university in Austria (University of Vienna), Belgium (Catholic University of Louvain; Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix, Namur), or Hungary (Central European University in Budapest).
