This program focuses on the study of theoretical and pragmatic aspects of the arts with a focus on three main areas, Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Arts Management. This study will focus on the success of these forms of fine arts and performing arts by type or genre of taking into account the production or process of creativity, aesthetics, its success and its importance in the Malay community. Art Management Studies emphasis on skills and work organization and planning in connection with the making of art. The Department is aware of the importance of arts education knowledge as a process to be creative, skills, joint venture, worth aesthetics and impact of aural, visual and technology.

Student must complete total of 128 credits in order to be awarded the Bachelor of Malay Arts.

Local Candidates

• Fulfilled all General University Requirements

• Pass in SPM / equivalent

• Credit in Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Melayu SPM level / equivalent

• Pass in STPM / equivalent

• Obtained at least C grade (NGMP 2.00) in General Paper and 2 other courses

• Pass in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) with at least Band 1

• Fulfilled all the Special Programme Requirements

• Obtained at least B grade (3.00) in STPM in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia / Kesusasteraan Melayu Komunikatif / Seni Visual/ ICT OR obtained at least CGPA 3.00 in any related Diploma level OR obtained at least Jayyid Jiddan in STAM level

• Obtained A grade in SPM level in Bahasa Melayu/ Kesusasteraan Melayu

• Obtained at least five credits in related subject in SPM level

• Pass in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) with at least Band 2

• Pass Interview Session           

International Candidates

• Fulfilled all Entry Requirements

• Obtained the National Higher School Certificate (or an Advance Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above

• Possess a Diploma from recognized Institutions with at least a CGPA of 3.00

• Pass Interview Session

• Enroll in the Malay Language Programme prior to being conferred a degree

• Fulfilled English Language Requirements

• Obtain the TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 79-80 (IBT) and above and/or IELTS Band 6 or General Certificate of Secondary Education (Ordinary Level), University of Cambridge with a credit pass or General Certificate of Education (Advance Level), University of Cambridge, with a pass
