Entry requires a four degree (Honours) degree in Mining Engineering or a cognate field from a recognised institution, or satisfying the requirements of the UNSW Graduate degree in Mining Engineering (MINE5040FS and out of 2015: MINE5335) having minimum WAM of 65 percent and no course neglects. The UNSW School of Mining Engineering defines a cognate field as Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering. Performance that is equivalent to Honours (I or II Section 1) is demanded over the final 2 years of this amount. Professional experience within the mining industry will be highly regarded.
