The programme will give the students a good knowledge of different aspects of organic chemistry. Scientific methods will be emphasised at all stages and the student will be given training in scientific presentations, in writing as well as verbal.
The research conducted is within the framework: organic synthesis. Within this, each senior scientist of the group makes distinct contribution in his/her field of specialization. In this respect, the group can be regarded as a pluralistic monolith. The projects conducted overlap and there is a close co-operation between the members of the group. Activities can be summarized by the following keywords:
- Synthetic methodology
- Design and optimization in organic synthesis
- Stereo-selective synthesis
- Organo-metallic chemistry
- Peptide chemistry
- Synthesis of complex molecules (total synthesis)

Admission to the master??s programme in chemistry requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, or another degree following a programme of study of at least three years, or similar education approved in accordance with the Norwegian Universities Act section 3-4.
