The MSc in Peace, Resilience and Social Justice at the University of Bradford is a comprehensive postgraduate programme designed to equip students with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical understanding necessary to address some of the most pressing issues facing societies today. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, conflicts often stem from social inequalities, political instability, and environmental challenges. This programme seeks to foster a deep understanding of these interconnected factors, enabling graduates to contribute effectively to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and social justice initiatives globally. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including theories of peace and conflict, human rights, social resilience, development studies, and the role of NGOs and international organizations. Students will explore diverse case studies from different regions, analyzing the causes and consequences of conflict and examining strategies for promoting sustainable peace and resilience at local, national, and international levels. The programme emphasizes practical skills such as policy analysis, project management, negotiation, and advocacy, preparing students for careers in NGOs, governmental agencies, international organizations, or research institutions. The flexible structure allows students to specialize in areas of personal or professional interest, supported by expert faculty with extensive experience in peacebuilding and social justice work. Through a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops, and field visits, students engage in hands-on learning and critical reflection. The programme also encourages students to develop their own projects and initiatives that can contribute positively to conflict-affected communities or social justice efforts worldwide. Graduates of this MSc will be well-positioned to influence policy, implement development programmes, and promote resilience and social equity in diverse contexts. The degree offers a unique opportunity to become part of a vibrant academic community committed to creating a more peaceful and just world, guided by values of human rights, equality, and social inclusion.
