Description

This programme has been introduced this year for students interested in making strong links with industry. Our top students will enter the programme from our MPhys courses at the end of year two. The industrial placement will be in a local company such as MERCK for six months over the summer at the end of the year and into the first semester of year four. Places on this programme are strictly limited and applications are made through MPhys Physics (F303).

Course Content

Students undertake four years of study. Each year there are compulsory modules. However, the degree has been designed to maximise student choice by allowing you to tailor the degree structure to suit your own interests.

Requirements

GCSEs:

GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C or above

A Levels:

AAA, including AA in Mathematics and Physics

English Language Requirements:

If English is not your first language, you will need to have already reached a satisfactory standard in an approved test in English, such as Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English grade C or above, IELTS grade 6.5 or TOEFL score of 600.

Alternative Qualifications:

We welcome applications from candidates offering qualifications other than A and AS levels (including BTEC, European Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate, Irish Leaving Certificate and Scottish Highers). You will be expected to attain an equivalent standard to an A level applicant.
