This Masters degree offers students the opportunity to study the various spatial planning dimensions of regeneration at local, regional and national scales. Most modules contain a significant practice-orientated component that focuses on developing the skills and knowledge necessary for working effectively in the 'real world'.
This MSc is accredited as a standalone programme by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Planning and Development Pathway). It is also accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), but only for graduates who have successfully completed an RTPI-accredited undergraduate programme, however, the School does offer an RTPI-accredited MSc programme for graduates from a range of non-planning backgrounds.

Assessment is by a variety of methods including formal examination, individual and group project submissions and individual assessment of specialist subject submission.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Normally a 2.2 Honours degree or above or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University. Students who have successfully completed the BSc in Environmental Planning can apply to this programme.

It is also open to other graduates, particularly those from the built environment professions and those involved in community development, regeneration, and certain fields in public service provision, local government and the voluntary sector.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students (for whom English is not their first language), must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their studies. Non-EEA nationals must also satisfy UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) immigration requirements for English language for visa purposes. Evidence of an IELTS* score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required (*taken within the last 2 years). Awards are available for both Masters and Doctoral degrees in humanities subject areas.
