Political Science is concerned with the analysis of conflict and conflict resolution; identity and co-operation; power and authority; and anarchy and government. CarletonпПХs Political Science program allows you to discover how political decisions are made and why politics is called the art of the possible. CarletonпПХs Political Science professors provide expertise to governments, businesses, and the media, and they are renowned in their field for leading research and influential writing. Overall, this program will teach you how to marry research and writing skills with interpretation of empirical data and social theory in a variety of contexts so that you are ready to work locally, nationally, and internationally. Within the Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, you can choose from one of seven Concentrations: Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics and Area Studies (Industrialized States), Comparative Politics and Area Studies (Development and Underdevelopment), International Relations, Political Theory, Public Affairs and Policy Analysis, and Gender and Politics.
