The Master of Professional Accounting (Extension) is designed to provide non-accounting graduates with the essential knowledge and skills required for a career in accounting. This class provides the excellent academic foundation to follow a career in accounting. It provides the data, knowledge and understanding necessary for job within the accounting profession. Moreover, the professional recognition of the class by CPA Australia and ICAA provides students with internationally recognised credentials that enhance both their promotion and employment opportunities. The class aims to present local and worldwide graduates with the necessary knowledge in accounting and also the role accounting plays in providing information products supporting all facets of business activity. In addition to providing a professionally recognised qualification, the path comprises a variety of accounting, finance, legal, communication and economics subjects that jointly provide a range of fundamental business expertise and knowledge that are necessary for job in the current dynamic business environment. Career options involve management-level rankings in government or industry, in addition to non-profit organisations. With the CPA and ICAA eligibility being recognised internationally, the outlook of overseas employment is likewise enhanced.

  • Applicants should have completed an UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional credentials that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies. Applicants using a related graduate certification should have done it with a minimum of a credit score. The English proficiency requirement of global students or community applicants with international credentials is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
