The Bachelor of Science (Professional) provides students with a broad science summary with the capability to specialise in a field of their choice by means of a range of Science majors. The course intends to equip students with the relevant skills, knowledge and key theoretical insights needed to work in a range of professional technical surroundings. A distinguishing characteristic of the program is your practical application of knowledge through project-based units of analysis. Drawing on the expertise of prominent teachers, researchers and an assortment of industry pros, the course enables students to tailor their level and develop a unique variety of unique skills. Offering a flexible variety of unit mixes, the course enables students to select a professionally focused program of analysis. Based on the choice of major, or minor studies, graduates of the Bachelor of Science Could be eligible to apply for membership of relevant professional societies e.g. AusBiotech, Australian and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Australian Computer Society (ACS), Australian Institute of Physics, Australian Mathematical Society, Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM), Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC), Environmental Health Australia, Environmental Institute of Australia, Genetics Society of AustralAsia (GSA), National Business Leaders Forum for Sustainable Development, Professionals Australia, Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), Sustainability Practitioners Association (SPA).

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or 30 in English (EAL)
  • And Units 4 and 3: a minimum study score of 20 in virtually any Mathematics. Further performance criteria and prerequisite requirements can also apply. English language requirements - satisfactory conclusion of one of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced degree ) with overall 70%, each of skills 65 percent
  • Minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (web-based ) minimum score of 79 with a reading band a minimum of 18 and writing band a minimum of 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 5 8 (no real skills significantly less than 50)
  • every other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency equivalent. Notice: A prerequisite for several lessons, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can now be done on campus at Hawthorn.
