Psychology

This training course is for students of a four-year licensed psychology application. The main intention is to provide a 5th and 6th year of supervised practice and structured learning how to meet the requirements for general registration as a psychologist and also to prepare yourself for entry in to a registrar program resulting in an area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology, with the Psychology Board of Australia. The Master of Psychology (Clinical) provides a detailed program of study of this professional practice of psychology involving appraisal, appraisal, communication and ethics. Additionally, it provides specialised training and supervised practice in the assessment and intervention skills of clinical psychologists. Supervised research can be undertaken over a couple of years of study. The UOW School of Psychology provides exceptional facilities and staff to encourage education and opportunities for the research.

The Master of Psychology (Clinical) is licensed by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) being a 5th and 6th year schedule of analysis with the goal of full registration as a psychologist using the Psychology Board of Australia, and also to give preparation for entry into a registrar program resulting in a place of clinic acceptance in clinical psychology using an Psychology Board of Australia.

Students should have completed a 4 year, or three year and a fourth year APAC-accredited series in psychology, over the previous 10 years, with an Honours degree of at least Class II Section 1 (or equivalent 4th year eligibility ) for a successful candidate for the Clinical Psychology Program.
