The Graduate Certificate in Rolling Stock Engineering has been developed to provide a structured way of development and learning. You will learn from staff who have reached the forefront of their areas and fields of research and industry experts with extensive railroad experience in workshops and discussion forums, giving you valuable networking opportunities. You may see how to use established predictive methods (e.g. units, rules, software, standards) to build system specifications and rate the operation of component systems in rolling stock (including steering, traction, containment, communication, motive powerand power transmission, and train control). Additionally you will be able to provide input in these predictive procedures to generate or generate system specifications at an entire system level (i.e. consist/train place ), obtaining a knowledge of rolling stock operating environment parameters or constraints i.e. regulatory framework, safety, community expectationsand ecological impact, funding, human aspects, compatibilityand power, and capability.

A Bachelor of Engineering degree from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent. Candidates holding additional tertiary qualifications with five or more years' relevant industry experience and who are nominated by their employer may also be considered. Applicants must also include a CV offering a brief report of these job history to date.
