The job of Science provides students with a wide science summary with the capacity to concentrate in an area of their choice through a range of science scholars. The class intends to equip students with the skills, wisdom and key theoretical knowledge necessary to function in a variety of professional technical environments. A distinguishing feature of the course is your practical application of knowledge throughout project based units of study. According to the expertise of leading teachers, researchers and a variety of industry pros, the class permits students to tailor their level and create a unique variety of interdisciplinary skills. Offering a flexible assortment of unit mixes, the class permits students to decide on a professionally focused program of study. The topics covered seek to blend a selection of key scientific skills and knowledge required by proposed and current industry requirements. Swinburne also supplies an honours (fourth) year for this degree.

Depending on the choice of major, or minor studies, graduates of the Bachelor of Science Could be eligible to apply for membership of relevant professional societies e.g. AusBiotech, Both Australian and New Zealand Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Australian Computer Society (ACS), Australian Institute of Physics, Australian Mathematical Society, Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM), Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC), Environmental Health Australia, Environmental Institute of Australia, Genetics Society of AustralAsia (GSA), National Business Leaders Forum to Sustainable Development, Professionals Australia, Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), Sustainability Practitioners Association (SPA).

• Year 12 or equivalent
• VCE prerequisites: Units 3 and 4: the absolute minimum study score of 25 in English (or equivalent) or 30 in English (EAL)
• And Units 4 and 3: the absolute minimum study score of 20 in any Mathematics. More performance criteria and prerequisite requirements may also apply. English language requirements - satisfactory conclusion of one of the following: Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 high degree ) with overall 65 percent, all of skills 65%
• Minimum IELTS overall group of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no single band below 6.0
• TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 75 using a reading band a minimum of 18 and writing band a minimum of 20
• Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 50 (no real skills significantly less than 50)
• Any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency. Notice: A necessity for most classes, the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) can now be done on campus at Hawthorn.
