The Master of Science is right for 2 different categories of students, namely the professional scientists wanting to update their industry-related skills for career progress and students considering a research degree. The class contains a compulsory core of professional subjects relevant to all science areas. The subjects at the core provide a back pack of skills relevant to an expert scientist; make sure they engaged in science research companies, businesses or government organisations. These will be the skills of communicating, critical investigation, job management and invention and commercialisation. The expert strand is directed by either major study in a certain science or mathematics discipline. Students may have the option of undertaking a small research projectsubject to endorsement by the faculty. For students with appropriate achievement amounts, the chance to undertake an even larger scientific study can be found by transferring in to the Master of Science (Honours). For individuals considering a research degree, the Master of Science (Honours) provides a pathway into your PhD. The No specified major alternative is acceptable for students seeking scientific credentials as entry in to the area or want to obtain brand new managerial skills in a range of technical and technical applications to progress their area of expertise. Career options vary in line with the major preferred, but all graduates have trained in the professional features that employers search. The skills learnt extend career horizons and enhance prospects for promotion from the fast evolving science professions.

  • Applicants must have completed an UTS recognised bachelor degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or filed additional evidence of general and professional qualifications which demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies. Entry into any one of those Groups requires a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a similar discipline. The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
  • Or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 complete with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 complete with a writing score of 21
  • Or AE5: Pass
  • Or PTE: 58-64
  • Or CAE: 176-184.
