Study a Master's in Sensor System Engineering in the Netherlands

As a Master of Science specialised in sensor systems you’ll develop new and exciting ways to use sensor data to assist and improve the world around us. You will concentrate on finding relevant information and services in big data, moving from a proof of concept to developing prototypes.

Students that qualify for the Sensor System Engineering master's programme can either be admitted directly or will be required to do a special pre-master or bridging programme before they can start the master. The Admissions Committee determines the contents of this bridging programme, depending on the potential of the student.

  • Graduates of the Advanced Sensor Applications and the Sensor Technology bachelor's programmes (Institute of Engineering, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen) will receive direct entry to the master's programme after application.

  • Graduates who successfully completed the minor programme Sensor System Engineering (Institute of Engineering, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen) as part of their bachelor's degree will also receive direct entry to the master's programme after application.

  • Graduates of other Engineering, IT and Science bachelor's programmes, most likely have to enrol in a special preparatory course or bridging programme (Minor Sensor System Engineering of 30 ECTS) before admittance to the main one year Master programme. Our Admissions Committee requires a portfolio containing extensive information about your previous education. This portfolio will be considered carefully by the Admissions Committee to determine whether you can be accepted directly into the master's programme or whether a preparatory course is necessary. You may also be rejected if your past education does not meet the necessary criteria. Once you are accepted, our Student Administration will send you a formal letter of acceptance, followed by the official information about visa procedures, housing, insurance and so on.
