The Graduate degree in Sports Media equips students with the skills, techniques and knowledge to build a career across multiple regions of sport management, management, journalism and communication. The course draws from the areas of journalism, public relations and industry to deliver invaluable learning adventures within networking management, sports management and marketing, audience development and reporting and reporting across video, text and audio. UTS's unique deal with the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust delivers a range of opportunities for students across sporting principles, adding an in-house, hands-on element to each element of the program. Students are behind the scenes and before the activity. The program is delivered by teachers in the UTS's School of Communication and School of Business along with leading industry professionals. The emphasis will be on delivering both pragmatic and reflective learning chances, so that graduates are doers and thinkers and possess both practical and strategic skills.

  • UTS recognised bachelor degree, or equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted additional evidence of credentials which demonstrates possibility to pursue graduate studies. Applicants that have not completed a bachelor's, master'sgraduate degree or graduate certificate in any field of study (or overseas equivalent) must provide: a personal statement (approx. 500 words) explaining why they want to study the program, and a CV, which should contain information on paid and voluntary work or other experiences that would be highly relevant to this program. The English competency requirement of international students or neighborhood applicants with international credentials is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
  • Or TOEFL: newspaper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 2-1
  • Or AE5: Pass
  • Or PTE: 58-64
  • Or CAE: 176-184. Qualification for entry doesn't guarantee offer of an area.
