The Master’s programme in Social Sciences combines theory with practice. One day will be devoted to lectures and tutorials, while the next day you’ll be teaching a secondary school class under the guidance of an experienced teacher. You will not only acquire new knowledge but you will also learn how to transfer knowledge effectively. Civics and Social Sciences play a special role in the secondary school curriculum. They are the focus of political education; they are about helping pupils become democratic citizens. They encompass political participation among the youth, democracy, citizenship, and standards and values. The programme is personal and small-scale. You will enjoy individual supervision and plenty of personal interaction. In addition, you will get to know fellow students of all ages, each with their own knowledge and experience to share and learn from. When you graduate from this programme, you will have a Master’s degree and a teaching qualification that enables you to teach all phases of secondary education. You can start work as a Civics teacher or organize internal training courses at public institutions or in an in-company setting.
