Aiming to produce graduates who will play leadership roles in international society, the School of Political Science and Economics launched an English-based degree program in September 2010, welcoming students from around the world.
The program offers students the opportunity to take global-standard classes of the highest quality, all conducted in English, and earn credit regardless of their level of Japanese-language proficiency
The program has been selected as part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Project for Establishing Core Universities for Internationalization (Global 30), and operates with support from the government of Japan.
Applicants for this program need to submit the following list of documents:
Application form, English essay, Certificate of graduation (expected graduation), Academic transcript, Certificate of results of university entrance qualification examination/other standardized tests results, or SAT Reasoning, Certificate of English-Language Proficiency (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, or GEPT), among others.
100 students will be admitted.

Students enrolled in the School of Political Science and Economics can take advantage of the wide variety of scholarships offered by Waseda University.
Waseda University scholarships include internal scholarships and those offered externally by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), local governments, and private organizations. Loan-type scholarships require repayment after graduation. Grant-type scholarships do not need to be repaid. Waseda University internal scholarships are all grant-type; recipients are also eligible for external scholarships offered by the Japan Student Services Organization and private organizations.
