The main goal of the Program is to strengthen cultural and academic ties between the peoples of the United States and Russia, and to improve mutual understanding between our countries. The program is fully funded by the US Government.
Fulbright Fellowships for University Teachers (FFDP) are awarded on a competitive basis to develop a new or improve an existing training course for a Russian university within the discipline declared by the applicant.
The scholarship includes: • monthly payment • limited health insurance • payment of transportation costs
Requirements for participants in the competition : Russian citizenship and permanent residence on the territory of the Russian Federation, starting from January 01 of the current year. Participants in the competition must have a higher education diploma from one of the universities accredited in the Russian Federation. At the time of submission of documents, the participants of the competition must work as university teachers at their main place of work and have at least 3 years of continuous teaching experience at the university (both state and non-state). Contestants must provide a clear description of the course they plan to improve or develop and implement after completing their internship in the United States. Competitors must have proficiency in English to the extent required for study and internship (ibtTOEFL at least 80 points). For applicants who previously received a J-1 visa: the time interval from the day of returning to Russia until the date of submission of documents for the competition must be at least 2 years. FFDP rules do not allow family members to accompany or visit fellows. Relatives are not provided with a visa or any other support from the Program. RIEA, VGS and FFDP alumni cannot participate in the competition. Applicants who are permanent residents of the United States, who have American citizenship or a residence permit in the United States, will not be eligible for the competition. Participants who successfully passed the competition and are recommended for a scholarship will be required to submit in Decembercertified copies of the diploma and application, as well as a certified translation into English of a copy of the diploma and application.
