Description

Brunel Business and Management degrees will equip you with a broad knowledge and appreciation of business and management as well as the analytical, technical and interpersonal skills required to understand, analyse and address the problems that today’s companies face. The Marketing pathway develops a more in depth understanding of the marketing functions. It also offers the chance to explore the fundamental principles and practices of other major aspects of modern day marketing, such as market research, database marketing, exporting and the marketing of not-for-profit services.

Core business modules in this pathway offer you a range of skills in business and management (see Course Content), whilst core specialist subjects include Marketing Communications; Strategic Marketing; Consumer Behaviour; Marketing Channels, And International Marketing.

Approved and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) graduates of this degree can gain direct entry onto the CIM's Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. You will also learn valuable technical skills along the way: numerical methods and statistical software packages such as SPSS and EXCEL without the need for 'A' level maths or the overseas equivalent.

Aims

You will learn about the world of business and management and develop the skills to get a good job when you graduate. You will enhance your ability to communicate your ideas and to take responsibility for your learning. In particular, the marketing pathway will equip you with transferrable intellectual vocational and interpersonal skills towards a broad range of marketing and advertising roles.

Course Content

All Business School undergraduates study a common first year. All level 2 modules are core and specific to the general business pathway. At Level 3 you will study additional core modules, plus your choice of two elective modules from a selection. You will also study a particular area of business in depth by way of a final year project.

Requirements

  • GCE A-level AAB – BBB. Typical offer AAB

  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma D*D*D in Business or a Business related subject.

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma D*D in Business or a Business related subject with an A-Level at grade A.

  • BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma D in Business or a Business related subject with A-Levels grade AA.

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma 35 points.

  • Access to Higher EducationDiploma Complete and pass Access to Business or related subject course with 45 credits at Level 3 Distinction and 15 credits at level 2. Applicants should also have some relevant work experience.

GCSE Mathematics grade C and GCSE English grade C are also required.
