What is Logistics?

Logistics is management and organization of supplies of materials and goods, as well as organization of people for the purpose of the greatest optimization. In addition, logistics can include financial and information management. Logistics is aimed at optimizing costs and rationalizing the production, sales and related services both for purposes of a single enterprise or a group of enterprises.

The main area of application of logistics is business and entrepreneurship, but also logistics is used in the military field.

Structure of Logistics study programs

Usually students in Logistics choose a  Bachelor study program, but Associate study programs in this area are quite common too. Associate degrees usually last two years, while Bachelor degrees last from three to four years.

Master degree in Logistics are also available. They consist of more specific courses in Logistics specializations and mainly needed to advance the skills for specific job placements or to receive more theoretical knowledge of Logistics. Master degree in Logistics also a great option for those who wish to work in Logistics and Supply Chain Management area, but their Bachelor education was dedicated to another related discipline, such as Management and Organisation.

Degrees (mostly undergraduate) in Logistics can either be separate or taught as a specialization of a business or management study program. Study programs in Business with specialisation in Logistics are usually more general and include mandatory courses in Business, while separate study programs in Logistics can be more specific.

Study programs in Logistics consist of lectures and seminars. Besides courses in Logistics (and sometimes Reverse Logistics), students undertake courses in Economics and  Management. Some courses in computing are also mandatory. Some study programs include collaborative research and presentation in the area of Logistics.

Entry requirements for Logistics applicants

Usually there are no specific requirements for those who wish to apply for an undergraduate study program in Logistics. Applicants for some study programs need to have a high GPA score in Mathematics, but for most study programs a high overall GPA score or high school scores are enough. Since all study programs in Logistics which can be found on our website are taught in English, language proficiency is mandatory for all applicants.
