Electrical and Computer Engineering programme encompasses information technology, control and robotics, electronics and telecommunications. The programme covers a great variety of subjects corresponding to diverse subject areas. All students attend the same courses during the first and second year, and then choose their own specialisation. Two specialisations are currently offered: Computer Systems and Networks (CSN) and Telecommunications (TCM). Graduates of the BSc programme in the Computer Systems and Networks specialisations are prepared to work in the areas related to the design of new computer systems and operation of the existing ones. They have excellent qualifications in the area of computer science basics, including basic knowledge of information processing as well as of the area of algorithms and system modelling and various aspects of computer engineering and applications. Graduates of the B.Sc. programme in the Telecommunications specialisation are prepared to work in the areas related to the design of digital telecommunication circuits, to the digital processing of telecommunication signals (coding and compression of speech and image signals, digital modulations, redundant coding), the design and operation of telecommunication (transmission, commutation and data-communication) systems, as well as the design of telecommunications (telephone, data-communication and integrated networks).
