The Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Newcastle aims to produce highly competent practitioners capable of contributing to healthcare reform and innovation. A minimum of two years full time equivalent (FTE) as a registered nurse in a specified clinical area and two years FTE of current complex nursing practice in this identical clinical arena. A post graduate qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework Grade 8 in a clinical area. Sufficient English language competence and communication skills to successfully tackle academic experience and integrated professional practice requirements all through this app (as evidenced by current general registration as a general nurse in Australia). There are additional entry requirements for students including: Nomination of two clinical supervisors approved by the Program Convenor. The clinical supervisors are to consist of: A qualified nurse practitioner or senior medical practitioner nurse using a master's level or equivalent within the region of practice
