Civil engineers are involved both in technology and in the organization of technological projects. They are experts who combine technical know-how with ‘soft skills’ such as communication, project management and process management. The Bachelor’s programme in Civil Engineering will teach you about all these aspects. UT offers the highest ranked Civil Engineering programme in the Netherlands. Our programme focuses on three core themes: construction, traffic and water. In learning about construction, you will study the functional design of structures and the management of the construction process. Traffic is about the combination of infrastructure, mobility and sustainable transport systems. Studying water and water management involves disciplines such as fluid mechanics and fluid dynamics, and areas like water and coastal management, reservoirs, water flows and flood protection. Civil Engineering at the University of Twente has a low student-teacher ratio and features a distinctive project-led teaching method which enables you to tackle real-world projects in student teams.
