This qualification reflects the job functions of workers at the accounting industry, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; rather than those employees performing accounting tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It has preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to actions statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and expertise to work properly, and physical exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions in the occupational areas where this eligibility may be properly used are subject to regulatory conditions. Refer to the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate ruler for certain guidance on requirements.Persons giving a small business activity statement (BAS) service for a fee or other reward has to be enrolled by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is currently cited as fulfilling with the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other states apply, including a predetermined amount of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should check current registration conditions with the TPB, as registration requirements are evaluated regularly.
