This qualification reflects the occupation functions of workers at the accounting industry, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and of these employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of businesses. It has preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer with regard to activity statements. Individuals in those functions employ theoretical and expert understanding and expertise to work autonomously, and physical exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions in the occupational areas where this eligibility may be properly utilized are susceptible to specific regulatory requirements. Check with the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate regulator for specific assistance with requirements.Persons providing a business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward must be enrolled by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is now cited as fulfilling with the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other states apply, including a designated amount of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should assess current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements are reviewed regularly.
