This qualification reflects the job functions of workers in the accounting industry, for example BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; rather than these employees performing accounting tasks for businesses in a range of businesses. It has preparing and lodging industry and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner with respect to a taxpayer in relation to actions statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and expert understanding and skills to work properly, and physical exercise decision in completing regular and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions from the occupational areas where this eligibility might be utilized are susceptible to regulatory requirements. Consult with the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate ruler for specific assistance with requirements.Persons supplying a business activity statement (BAS) service for a fee or other reward must be filed by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is now cited as meeting the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, for example a predetermined amount of experience. Persons searching BAS agent registration should check current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements have been assessed regularly.
