This qualification reflects the project functions of workers within the accounting business, for example BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and of these employees performing accounting tasks for businesses in a range of businesses. It includes preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or addressing the Commissioner with respect to a citizen in relation to activity statements. Individuals in these functions apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and expertise to work properly, and exercise decision in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork works from the occupational areas where this qualification might be used are subject to regulatory requirements. Consult with this FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate regulator for specific guidance on requirements.Persons giving a business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward must be filed by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this qualification is currently cited as fulfilling with the TPB education requirements for registration. Other states apply, for example a predetermined amount of experience. Persons seeking BAS broker registration should check current registration requirements with all the TPB, as registration requirements are examined regularly.
