This qualification reflects the project functions of workers within the accounting business, for example BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and most of course these employees performing accounting tasks for businesses in a range of businesses. It has lodging and preparing business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner with respect to a taxpayer with regard to activity statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work peacefully, and physical exercise judgement in completing regular and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions in the occupational areas where this qualification might be properly utilized are subject to regulatory requirements. Consult with the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the relevant regulator for specific help with requirements.Persons giving a business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward must be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this qualification is currently cited as meeting the TPB education requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, for example a predetermined period of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should assess current registration conditions with all the TPB, as registration requirements are reviewed regularly.
