This qualification reflects the job functions of workers in the accounting business, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and of those employees performing accounting tasks for businesses in a range of businesses. It has lodging and preparing industry and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or addressing the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to activity statements. Individuals in those functions apply theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously, and physical exercise judgement in completing regular and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions in the occupational areas where this eligibility might be utilized are subject to specific regulatory conditions. Check with this FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate regulator for certain help with requirements.Persons supplying a business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward has to be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is now cited as fulfilling the TPB instruction requirements for registration. Other conditions apply, including a predetermined period of experience. Persons searching BAS broker registration should assess current registration conditions with the TPB, as registration requirements are assessed regularly.
