This qualification reflects the job roles of workers within the accounting industry, for example BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; and of those employees performing accounting tasks for businesses in a range of businesses. It includes preparing and lodging business and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or dealing with the Commissioner on behalf of a citizen in relation to activity statements. Individuals in these roles employ theoretical and specialist knowledge and expertise to work autonomously, and training judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions from the occupational areas where this eligibility may be used are subject to regulatory requirements. Consult with the FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the appropriate ruler for particular assistance with requirements.Persons giving a small business activity statement (BAS) service for a commission or other reward has to be registered by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and also this eligibility is currently cited as fulfilling with the TPB education requirements for enrollment. Other conditions apply, for example a predetermined amount of experience. Persons searching BAS agent enrollment should assess current registration conditions with all the TPB, as enrollment requirements have been evaluated regularly.
