This qualification reflects the occupation roles of workers at the accounting business, including BAS Agents and contract bookkeepers; rather than the employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of industries. It features lodging and preparing industry and instalment activity statements, and providing advice or addressing the Commissioner on behalf of a taxpayer with regard to activity statements. Individuals in these roles employ theoretical and specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously, and exercise decision in completing regular and non-routine activities.Licensing/Regulatory InformationWork functions from the occupational areas where this eligibility may be utilized are susceptible to specific regulatory requirements. Refer to this FNS Financial Services Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide or the relevant ruler for particular assistance with requirements.Persons offering a small business activity statement (BAS) service for a fee or other reward has to be filed by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) and this eligibility is now cited as fulfilling the TPB education requirements for enrollment. Other states apply, including a designated amount of experience. Persons seeking BAS agent enrollment should assess current enrollment requirements with the TPB, as enrollment requirements have been examined regularly.
