Tourism Management

In the hospitality and service industry there is an increasing demand for qualified employees who are eager to take on the challenges of a rapidly changing business environment. Our MIHSM programme meets this demand by delivering graduates who possess the experience and knowledge of the industry. The Master programmes at Stenden are accredited and validated by the University of Derby, UK and by the Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO). You can choose for a single Master of degree (MA) or gain a dual award consisting of a Dutch MA degree and a British Master of Science degree. Our partner university in the UK, the University of Derby, is ranked nr. 1 in the Guardian University League 2015 in Hospitality, Tourism and Events education. The Master programmes also have been accredited as first in The Netherlands by the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism & Hospitality Education (THE-ICE). Furthermore, the Stenden Master programmes benefit from the official participation in the Centre of Expertise in Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure (CELTH), which is supported by the Dutch government.

2. taaltoets cijfer IELTS score 6.0. Additionally, each student with an IELTS 6.0 score will be individually interviewed to assess motivation and level of English. Students with an IELTS score lower than 6.0 have the option to upgrade their academic language and study skills through a Pre-Master course at Stenden.
3. taaltoets cijfer Bij het aanmelden moet je een bewijs van Engels taalniveau toevoegen van één van de volgende testen: Academic IELTS 6.0 (met een minimum van één subscore 5.0), TOEFL 550 (paper-based) of 79 (internet-based).
4. vooropleiding (ISPAC: vereiste vooropleiding) Bachelor diploma, bij voorkeur een economische of management studie, sociale wetenschappen, vrijetijdsmanagement, toerisme, hotel of ander gerelateerde HBO opleidingen. De aanmeldingen van studenten die geen economische HBO opleiding hebben, worden op individuele basis bekeken.
5. vooropleiding (ISPAC: vereiste vooropleiding) Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Economics, Business or Management Studies. Students with non-economic or non-related Bachelors are evaluated on a per case basis.
6. werkervaring (ISPAC: vereiste werkervaring) Voor het voltijd programma is werkervaring in gerelateerde beroepen niet vereist maar wel aan te bevelen. Voor het parttime programma is een minimum van 3 jaar werkervaring op management level vereist.
7. werkervaring (ISPAC: vereiste werkervaring) Work experience in related fields is not required but is recommended.
8. schriftelijk verzoek Iedere student wordt gevraagd om een motivatie brief the schrijven voor hun aanmelding (één A4). Hierin moeten de volgende vragen behandeld worden: 1Wat zijn je verwachtingen ten opzichte van het Master programma? 2 Bij Stenden University beschouwen wij onderwijs een kennisuitwisseling tussen studenten en docenten. Wat kunnen docenten en medestudenten van jou verwachten? Wat wordt jouw inbreng in dit programma?(Denk bijvoorbeeld aan kennis,vaardigheden, competenties en ervaringen…)
