Anthropology is a broad field spanning four sub-fields: Biological Anthropology (the study of human evolution and the interaction between a personпПХs biology and culture), Archaeology (prehistoric peoples), Socio-cultural Anthropology (the study of social patterns and practices across cultures), and Linguistic Anthropology (the study of language and its use).Anthropology courses are a valuable part of a liberal arts education and provide a strong academic foundation for students proceeding to graduate studies or professional programs. The Anthropology program at Brandon University encompasses three of the discipline's four traditional major sub-fields: Socio-cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Physical Anthropology. It is possible to take introductory courses in the fourth sub-field, Linguistics, from the Department of Classical and Modern Languages.
