This course can be taken full-time over one year or part-time over two years, both by day. The course will appeal to a wide range of people, including present and future language teachers and those interested in language studies, linguistics and communications.

Students take 90 credits as follows:

Part I
* AL6011 Aspects of Applied Linguistics (15 credits)

* AL6012 Aspects of Linguistic Theory (15 credits)

* AL6013 Areas of Specialisation in Applied Linguistics (15 credits)

Part II
* AL6010 Research Dissertation (45 credits)

In order to be admitted to the MA in Applied Linguistics a candidate must have as a minimum a BA Hons degree with 2nd Class Honours which includes a language subject, or another equivalent degree.The Additional/Supplementary Statement Question MUST also be completed during the online application.
