Applied Science

The class has been developed through industry consultation to provide you with the theoretical understanding and technical abilities in exercise and sport science. You will acquire an comprehension of exercise and sport science in the core areas of physical exercise and health, exercise physiology, biomechanics, skill acquisition, nutrition, strength and conditioning, operation investigations, psychosocial factors of physical exercise, and exercise prescription and programming. Class sizes are small allowing increased interaction with both staff and also a'hands on' learning experience. You'll undertake expert placement in your second and third years, providing you with industry experience and preparing one for job in the exercise and sport science industry. Upon graduation you might decide to perform or pursue further study in exercise physiology, sports science, public health, sports management and research.

The program is licensed by Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) at the exercise science level, and graduates are eligible for membership with ESSA. ESSA is a specialist organisation committed to establishing, supporting and promoting the livelihood avenues of tertiary-trained exercise and sport science professionals. Candidates from ESSA-accredited training science classes may apply for postgraduate study in National University Course Accreditation Program (NUCAP)-classes that will permit them to become accredited exercise physiologists through ESSA.

Components 3 and 4-a study score of at least 20 in one of Physical Education, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematical Procedures (some other ), Specialist Mathematics or Physics and a study score of at least 25 in any English (except EAL) or at least 30 in English (EAL).
