In this two-year master's programme, you will have the option to choose various specialisations, allowing you to acquire a broad knowledge base of the history, language and culture of Asian societies, or of the contemporary developments in this dynamic continent. During the programme, you will benefit from the breadth and depth of Asian studies research in Leiden, which combines the very best of Asia-related research in Northwestern Europe. The various specialisations offered within this programme cater for students both with and without prior proficiency in one or more Asian languages. The programme is a good choice for students with ambitions to pursue a PhD position or a career as a researcher outside the academic world.
