> Technology is biological.
The Biomedical Engineering Sciences masters degree program offers an interdisciplinary education that combines medical requirements and technical solutions at the very highest level. The degree program, which is conducted in English, focuses on two areas: Biomedical Informatics and Medical Engineering. In the first three semesters, students can freely choose individual courses in these areas from elective modules, which allows them to structure their studies according to their requirements. The curriculum is rounded out with subjects covering business and project organization. Special emphasis is also placed on practice-oriented working methods in team-based projects. In addition, students have access to state-of the-art laboratories and technologies.
Technology affecting us all
Studies have confirmed that the interdisciplinary knowledge aquired by students in this degree program will gain in importance, matching the increasing demand for highly skilled graduates. Specialists in the fields of medical IT systems, medical informatics and telemedicine are highly sought after in Vienna and elsewhere. Apart from these new disciplines, graduates have excellent career opportunities in what may be referred to as classical areas such as medical technologies applied in clinical settings, research and industry.
