The University of Adelaides Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is widely recognised for its high quality and rigour, equipping students with lifelong skills in leadership. Within an interactive face-to-face environment conducive to adult learning, courses provide learning experiences in a variety of teaching formats.
The Adelaide MBA program emphasises the development of the ability to:
- understand the functional interrelationships between different parts of an organisation and the broader interaction of the organisation with its environment
- recognise and act effectively on problems and opportunities confronting an organisation
- coordinate and apply an organisation's financial, physical, technological and human resources in persuit of important objectives
- understand and communicate effectively with people inside and outside of an organisation
- evaluate current management policies and practices to develop new ways to improve organisational effectiveness
- provide strong leadership
Duration
The duration of the program is 1 - 1.5 years full time and up to 5 years for part-time.
Trimesters and Fast-Tracking
Each course (subject) is delivered over a 12-week trimester, allowing students to condense studies into a shorter period of time. It is possible to fast-track and complete the 12-course MBA within one year. There are 3 trimesters in each academic year.
After Hours Teaching
Most classes are scheduled to accommodate full-time working professionals. Classes are generally held on weeknights, with one 3-hour teaching block per week. Some courses are delivered fortnightly on Saturdays, in a 6-hour teaching block.
Intensive Courses
Several courses are offered in intensive mode. Classes are generally held over a Friday evening and Saturday morning, 3 times per trimester. Alternatively, they may be offered in 3 x 2 day blocks.
