This MSc programme puts you at the forefront of R&D in innovative chemical processes, novel materials and new products. You will harness the latest technology and techniques to address the challenges that face society. For instance, you can discover whether biomass conversion is able to provide lasting energy solutions, explore the potential of membrane technology to purify water, or use your knowledge of biomolecules to develop new materials or to generate power by osmosis. At the University of Twente you can focus on process engineering or materials science. During the Master’s you will benefit from our close ties with high profile research institutes, including the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology and the MIRA Institute for Biomedical Technology and Technical Medicine. You will fulfil the role of junior researcher from early on in your Master’s, giving presentations, writing articles and getting involved in grant applications. It is a highly international programme. You will write and present in English and have the opportunity to complete an internship abroad. As a chemical engineer, your career prospects are good, especially in process engineering and research.
