A variety of modules are available, ranging from Foundation Module (covering General Medicine and Surgery), Therapeutics (attending study days with expert practitioners), Clinical Governance (Audit and Management of Change), other ward Clerkships, Critical Care, Medicines Information, Aseptics, Primary Care, Clinics, Research.

Some of the modules are compulsory (100 out of 120 credits) and there are 20 optional credits (2 specialist modules).

Course Description

The administration and management centre for the course is based in the Health and Medicines Unit of the Cardiff School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The day to day operation of the course is carried out at 4 accredited teaching centres under the guidance of an Associate Course Director appointed to each centre.

The teaching centres currently accredited are Oxford, North-, South East- and South West- Wales covering a total of 34 hospital sites.

A number of hospitals in England and Wales have been accredited as clinical teaching sites for the MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy. These are listed below grouped into five teaching centres:

Suitable for GPHC Registered Pharmacists employed in accredited hospitals. Students must be employed as a pharmacist in an accredited hospital (one that runs the programme).Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
