This application was made to train psychology graduates to work as clinical psychologists, providing the 5th and 6th years of training demanded for analysis of the Australian Psychological Society and for Associate Membership of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and both decades of supervised training required for full registration as a psychologist. The course emphasises the acquisition of clinical psychological knowledge and techniques, as well as the further development of an understanding of psychological research, especially to ease ongoing professional improvement. A big teaching plan may be the adoption of a problemsolving approach to learning to fortify the acquisition of technical skills. The course also introduces students to the applications of medical psychology and forensic psychology in clinical practice.
Applicants must meet all the following criteria: 1 ). A completed four-year bachelor degree that comprises a succession in psychology that's been accredited by APAC or equal within the previous ten years. 2. A distinction or higher average in their fourth year of psychology (at honours or even a graduate diploma). Non-UC graduates have to have a First Class Honours to qualify. There are nonstandard English vocabulary requirements for this particular program.
