The Research Master in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience gives students a solid education in the leading theories, models, techniques, and analytic methods that form the basis for state-of-the-art research in the fields of neuroscience and psychology. In addition to this broad interdisciplinary training, students receive a comprehensive education in one of the six specialisations Cognitive Neuroscience, Drug Development and Neurohealth, Fundamental Neuroscience, Neuroeconomics, Neuropsychology or Psychopathology. The selective programme has a strong international orientation and is designed for students who wish to pursue a research-oriented career in psychology, neuroscience, neuroeconomics, drug development or a related field. Each specialisation can admit 20 to 25 students each year. Students will enjoy close interaction with staff, including a personal mentor, to promote their development as a scientist.

Admission requirements

The second stage of the admission procedure entails an individual interview and a 45-minute analytic writing assignment. Interviews with selected candidates will take place in February (first selection round) or in April (second selection round). If you are invited for the interview and you live either in the Netherlands or within a 200 km radius of Maastricht, you will be expected to attend in person. A Skype interview can be arranged if you live further away.

  3. vooropleiding (ISPAC: vereiste vooropleiding) Admission is limited to those with at least a university bachelor degree, completed before 1 September 2016. The Board of Admissions has not set a minimum GPA as an admission requirement. Although your academic record is an important indicator of your suitability for this programme, the Board of Admissions will base its decision on your total application.
