Commerce (Professional Accounting)

This major is intended for students functioning or seeking to work in a field which demands specialised knowledge in accounting. This class enriches wisdom and skills in accounting and associated facets of financial management and business law, in order to equip students for a career in professional accounting and related areas in Australia and globally. The class comprises 16 units which must be performed in two stages. On successful completion of this initial eight components, you can advance to the CPA Australia Extension flow and simultaneously enrol at the professional degree of this CPA App with CPA Australia, or enrol in the Accounting Foundation Stream: The CPA Australia Extension Stream allows you to obtain a Master level qualification from Curtin and receive academic support as you prepare to the CPA Program's external examinations. The course works when you've graduated with a Australian bachelor degree or equivalent from a field aside from accounting, and wish to pursue a career in professional accounting, or progress to management or senior functions. Even the Accounting Foundation Stream works when you've graduated with a Australian bachelor degree or equivalent in a field aside from accounting and would like to pursue a career in professional accounting or advancement to management or senior functions. This course is intended to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of accounting, including the professional information and standards required for industry registration and progress.
