Community Services

This qualification reflects that the functions of community agencies, case management and social home workers involved with the managing, co ordinating and/or bringing of person-centred services for individuals, groups and communities. At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad instructions from senior management. Workers are often supplying direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may even have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or instance direction; schedule ethics or the evolution of new small business opportunities.Note that the Statutory & forensic child, youth & family welfare specialisationmust be done in orderto meet the minimum education requirements for child protection and youth justice training in Victoria. In addition, to meet minimum education requirements for entrance into child protection training in Victoria, diploma credentials must be approved by the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA)To attain this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of are detailed in the Assessment Prerequisites of units of competency.No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this eligibility at that time of publication.
