On successful completion of their studies at the Department of Computer Science, graduates will be well prepared to independently solve engineering and research problems relating to hardware and software, including classifying those problems with regard to their complexity, specification and solution implementation. Graduates will be able to prepare, implement and verify IT projects as well as quickly adapt to the dynamic developments in information technologies. They will demonstrate knowledge of computer networks, multimedia techniques and artificial intelligence. They will be acquainted with microcomputer and microprocessor systems as well as computer applications in economics, management and organization. Graduates will gain skills and experience that will prepare them for careers as: researchers, designers and creators of software, administrators of complex information systems and computer networks, or specialists in information systems security. Graduates of first-cycle studies (Bachelor of Science) who subsequently continue the second-cycle (Master of Science) degree programme will possess the necessary foundations to pursue four-year postgraduate studies. After completing their doctoral thesis, they will be conferred the title of Doctor of Technology in the field of Computer Science.
