The fusion between Internet and the telephone networks causes new challenges for research and development. Would you like to develop communication technology and interactive services for the future Internet? Then this is the masters programme for you! It brings you contemporary education within the area of computer engineering, distinctly related to the research at the department. The programme is given in English and includes popular topics such as computer networking and software development.
The education is conducted through highly interactive work with the lecturers and researchers at the department. A number of the courses have traditional lectures and laboratory work, whereas others are given as projects. To work in the form of projects gives you a great opportunity to apply and improve what you have learned in previous courses. You also get a lot of experience in terms of planning and cooperation, which is valuable for your coming career. Furthermore, a number of projects are closely related to the research at the department, e.g. in sensor-based services and 3D visualization.
After the programme
The overall goal of this programme is to provide you with cutting-edge knowledge in the area of information technology, appropriate for research and advanced development in high-technology companies, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Another possibility is to start an academic career as a PhD student.

Degree of Master of Arts/Science (120 credits)
Teknologie magisterexamen alternatively Teknologie masterexamen med huvudområdet datateknik, translated into Master of Science (60 credits) and Master of Science (120 credits) with a major in Computer Engineering.

* Distributed Systems I, 7.5 Credits
* TCP/IP Networking, 7.5 Credits
Second semester:
* Advanced Software Development, 7.5 Credits
* Network Security and Management, 7.5 Credits
* Distributed Systems II, 7.5 Credits
* XML and Databases, 7.5 Credits
Third semester:
* Multimedia Coding and Transmission, 7.5 Credits
* Service Oriented Architectures, 7.5 Credits
* Applied Computer Engineering, 7.5 Credits
* Simulation of Communication Systems, 7.5 Credits
Fourth semester:
* Final Project (Master Thesis), 30 Credits
Credits are equivalent to European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits.
